Affymetrix GEx Rat
| Most widely used arrays of Affymetrix for rat samples (please note that not all arrays are available in a format that can be used on the GeneTitan™ instrument): |
|
- Rat Gene ST Array (cartridge and plate format)
- Rat Exon ST Array (cartridge and plate format)
- Rat Genome 230 2.0 Array (cartridge and plate format)
Rat Gene 1.0 ST Array (cartridge)
The GeneChip® Rat Gene 1.0 ST Array is the latest product in the family of Affymetrix expression arrays offering whole-transcript coverage. Each of the 27,342 genes is represented on the array by approximately 26 probes spread across the full length of the gene, providing a more complete and more accurate picture of gene expression than 3’-based expression array designs. This array is abailable in cartirdge format, as well as the GeneTitan plate format. The plate array enables high-throughput expression profiling of 16, 24, or 96 samples while using the same content as the industry-standard Rat Gene 1.0 ST array cartridge.
Rat Exon ST Array
With approximately four probes per exon and roughly 40 probes per gene, the GeneChip® Rat Exon 1.0 ST Array enables two complementary levels of analysis—gene expression and alternative splicing.
Rat Genome 230 2.0 Array
All probe sets that were presented on the GeneChip® Rat Expression sets 230 are included in the Rat Genome 230 2.0 Arrays. It contains 31,000 probe sets that analyze over 30,000 transcripts and variants from more than 28,000 rat genes, selected from GenBank®, dbEST, and RefSeq. This array is available in cartridge format as well as the high throughput GeneTitan plate array format. The plate array enables high-throughput expression profiling of 16, 24, or 96 samples at the same time, while using the industry-standard content as the GeneChip Rat Genome 230 2.0 array. Exceptions are that mismatch probes were removed from the design, leaving perfect match (PM) probes.
