DeepCAGE
DeepCAGE is the combination of DNAFORM's proprietary CAGE technology and ServiceXS' Next Generation Sequencing service, facilitating genome-wide analysis of 5'-end of mRNA molecules instead of most microarray gene expression profiling which analyze from 3'-end. With its high throughput of over 4,000,000 tags per library, DeepCAGE is the method of choice for genome-wide mappig of transcription start sites and to link promoter regions with expression levels of individual transcripts. Directly linking expression levels to the promoter regions, DeepCAGE is the tool at need to enter into the age of System Biology and Gene Network Studies.
Highlights:
CAGE technology - stands for Cap-Analysis-Gene-Expression - has been developed as a novel approach for expression profiling and promoter identification. CAGE is an excellent starting point for transcriptional network analysis and transcriptome characterization. Once the CAGE library has been created, the resulting tags are sequenced using the Illumina sequencing technology.
Next-generation sequencing technology resulted in the availability of massive amounts of sequence information: genomes of more and more organisms have been sequenced. Open Reading Frames (ORF's) are predicted in silico. DeepCAGE enables the validation of these predicted ORF's, identifying transcriptional start sites. Therefore, this technology is an excellent follow-up for any kind of de novo sequencing project.
