As authorized Affymetrix Service Provider, ServiceXS is able to bring GeneChip experiments within reach of every researcher! Affymetrix uses photolithography and solid-phase chemistry to produce arrays containing hundreds of thousands of 25-mer oligonucleotide probes packed at extreme high densities. Affymetrix uses 11 probe pairs (22 individual probes) to measure the expression level of each gene transcript. This reduces data variability for the most accurate and reproducible results possible. Because 25-mer probes are used, GeneChip arrays offer the optimal balance between sensitivity and specificity.
